Outdoor Adventures

As a working mom, I understand how drastically the pandemic has complicated our lives, wreaking havoc on our day jobs, parenting goals and most importantly, our kids’ learning.

ForestKids seeks to augment whatever learning your child is already engaged in and bring regular nature-based forest experiences directly into your child’s life in a dependable and safe way. ForestKids hopes to help meet some of the unprecedented demand for nature connection programing and offset extended screen-based learning and stressful home situations where parents are currently overwhelmed. ForestKids gets your children off their screens and into collaborative, guided forest play!

  • During the school year, choose from 2 and ½ or 3 hour forest adventures in the morning or afternoon, based on your needs. ForestKids also offers weeklong, all day summer camps as well as 4 hr. summertime daily nature immersion sessions.

  • Send your child to ForestKids once a week during the school year or as often as 3 times a week in the summertime.

  • ForestKids learning pods mainly consist of 5-9 children of various or similar ages; if a learning pod is larger than 9 students a co-teacher will assist in that adventure group.

  • Although ideal ages for ForestKids students are 4 through 11 years-old, we offer flexibility on both ends of that spectrum depending on a child’s readiness and parents; comfort level.

  • ForestKids is open to working with middle or high school-aged students. Learning pods designed for older students can be created as long as there is a minimum of 5 participants.

  • ForestKids adventure pods can take place at a number of outdoor locations on the Seacoast.

  • Locations can be fixed or roving depending on the needs of the student pod formed and the flexibility of the families.

  • Some adventure pods offer rolling admission; students can join at any time. Families are asked to commit to a minimum of 4 initial sessions to ensure continuity of adventure lessons, relationships and effective skills building. Other adventure pods are semester-based, with a set number of sessions and lower overall tuition due to the longer term commitment. New students can join a semester already in session if there is space; tuition will be prorated for the remaining sessions. See below for a list of current adventure pods in both categories.

  • ForestKids can create a learning pod specifically designed to meet your age group as well as the day, time and location most convenient for you. A minimum of 5 students is required to launch a new learning pod.
