ForestKids Outdoor Equity Program
Outdoor Learning for All
Check us out on Seacoast Online! ForestKids brings equity for children to the great outdoors
ForestKids is committed to providing nature connection experiences for ALL children. We believe getting into the woods is not just for middle and upper class kids, but an experience essential and transformative for young people of all economic backgrounds. Right now low-income kids, in particular, are experiencing unprecedented stress; these kids NEED the forest like a fish needs water.
As we build our regular paying programs for Seacoast families, we’ll also be building a ForestKids adventure pods for low-income and at risk youth in our community. There is no doubt American families are experiencing ever-widening gaps in resources, education, and wealth. We’re also offering Outdoor Equity in Washington, D.C! Check out Urban ForestKids here.
What can you do to contribute to greater equity in outdoor education? Ask yourself, is your family or business flourishing financially? Can you share that good fortune? Invest in the outdoor education of an entire adventure pod or consider financing just one local kid’s adventure into the outdoors!
Your company can spearhead a Corporate Sponsorship facilitating an entire outdoor learning pod of 12 local, low-income kids with a three month Forest Session. Or, consider an Individual Sponsorship that provides one Seacoast child with 3 months of guided outdoor adventures. In fact, any amount that you can give will bring ForestKids that much closer to sharing nature-based learning with more children on the Seacoast, regardless of their financial situation!
ForestKids Outdoor Equity is partnering with a Portsmouth elementary school to launch the very first, free, nature immersion program for low-income kids! But we can’t do it without your support! Learn more about this partnership in this letter from Dondero principal Kate Callahan.
While ForestKids is not yet a non-profit, we are partnering with a Portsmouth school and may be able to ensure that larger or corporate donations are tax deductible. If you are interested in sponsoring ForestKids Outdoor Equity at a higher level please DON’T use the GoFundMe tool and contact Sarah Brown directly at 603-817-4694 or sarah@greenalliance.biz
